It seems that topic 'views' are way out of proportion to replies or even new threads...
I'm guessing that some of these 'views' may be the work of computers looking to phish e-mail addresses.
Just looking to see who is still active and maybe open the floor to discuss ways to increase participation...

I check in all the time but I don't write unless I've got something worthwhile to add. Keep in mind that summer is usually a pretty slow time on this forum.

Just one more week of freedom remaining :-(

I come by almost every day -- I don't always log in -- but I check to see what topics are going on. I think that the board does not have enough activity

I'm in...I look...I write...I really like this forum. The folks here have been great! They help with situations I've been caught in and they've offered a lot ideas for student projects and shop/classroom management.. Thank you.

I love that there is a place to go when you feel that you are the only woodshop/vocational teacher still out there. Members have helped me and I hope I have tried to help others. We are all in this together, we are losing programs every year. I agree that there has to be more participation. Some members have been awesome with their generosity. I myself am probably guilty of not participating enough.

Can you post up how many members we actually have and how many have participated in the last year? Maybe a members list with locations so we might find someone close by that maybe we can develop a more personal relationship in terms of support. Just throwing out ideas...

Keep up the good work everyone!!

Joe - Yes, I check in regularly, but haven't been posting as much. By the time I check a topic, it has usu been well discussed and doesn't need any of my "pearls of wisdom"...

I'm here as well. Many days I just jump in to see if there are any new posts, but don't log in unless I want to contribute.

Just bumping this up so that it doesn't get too buried...
Including e-mails we have had only 13 members take the time and effort to answer.

All the best,

Joe

Joe -

After posting here my blog got a pick up in traffic. Could be those bots, but I bet its other teachers heading our way.

I'm around.

I'll check in weekly or so, and add to a thread if I have something to contribute.

The above idea of a map of members locations would be nice.

I'm still here and a member. I got forced into retirement a year and a half ago but I still take a look here every few days to see what's going on. Right now I'm working with YouthBuild in Battle Creek. It's for young adults, aged 18 to 24, mainly inner city minority, who have dropped out of school. We're trying to help them get their GED or diploma, and at the same time teach them some entry level construction skills. It's slow right now so I've taken in a couple mini lathes and we've been making pens and cutting boards, which they seem to be getting into. It's a whole different world than I was used to teaching in, totally different mind set and value systems, but I'm liking it for the most part, most days.
