I was hoping to visit some high schools in California during Oct/Nov to view American workshop practices. Could anyone recommend schools that might be receptive to a cross-Pacific interaction? I am head of department in Design Technology (wood, metal, CAD, etc) in a private (non-government) high school in Australia. In addition, I teach Humanities (commerce, political science etc) and photography. A somewhat mixed bag but it is a luxury to be able to teach in fields which have always been consuming interests of mine. Now if I could teach motorcycle restoration I would have it all!!

What a shame that you are not visiting the East coast. I would love to host you.

I teach middle school woodshop and try to incorporate technology in my program as much as my budget allows. I am in Northern California in the San Joaquin Valley. You are more than welcome to visit my program. I would be happy to introduce you to officers and members of CITEA (California Industrial Technology Education Assocation) who are running the programs you are looking to visit. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested.
