I will be able to add more to my shop so I wanted to check to see what folks have. I'll be adding more dedicated suction to mounted tools, I have one air sucker (jet) on the ceiling. What do you folks have?

I think the biggest volume of particulates come from hand sanding. A downdraft per student isn't feasible. Any luck with area filters like furnace filter box mounts and the like? Thanks in advance.

You could make a sanding table with holes in the top and a blower/ filter in the bottom.
I have seen plans, but I can't put my hands on them right now.

I just built a 3' x 5' downdraft table, hooked up to the dust collector, and it works pretty well. Better than just sanding at their workbenches. Really easy to make; used 1/2" particle board for the top and had the kids drill 1/4" holes in a 1" x 1" grid pattern. Bottom is just plywood. Sides are mdf with laminate that I had laying around. 4" dryer hose.

Next project is adding a cabinet to the underside to store sanders and paper.
