My last day of teaching is this Friday 6/3/16
I will be retiring then.
I want to leave you with this...

Congratulations. I will be done June 21st having spent 17 years in the shop before being a CTE Director. My best days were as a shop teacher and I think I speak for this group when I say we value what you did.

I'll be starting my 37th school year and I second what Jack says. We value what you did more than any other group could. I also want to add that I like your list. I believe I fit nicely into that list too, with the exception.... maybe an exception.... that I have ventured a bit into the world of CNC that does require some button pushing, although that might not exactly be what you meant since turning on a table saw also requires some button pushing. Anyway, our State standards require exploring CNC and as it turns out, it isn't all that bad. There is a lot of thinking that goes into making CNC work, just like using any other woodworking tool or equipment. These types of skills have made it necessary to reinvent myself many times. I value our e-mails back and forth. I also value your friendship and your expertise. I'm absolutely sure that there are many still checking in on this site who all feel the same way. Please don't forget us and check in once and a while... as you are going to be greatly missed.
