Hey everyone, this is my second time on this site and I just wanted to say that it looks like a great site with a lot of dedicated Woodshop teachers. This is my first year teaching HS Woodshop after spending 26 years in the custom cabinet making field. It's great to see that I am not the only one facing some of these challenges. Oh so many challenges. I may be asking for some advice soon (like how to screw those darn vises shut during safety training!). Talk to you soon.

I have removed those vices from benches in the past. I tell the kids they can have them back when they don't use them as musical instruments.

Hopefully the students don't beat you to it and glue them shut! The teacher I replaced had this happen a few times

It is amazing what they will crush in those things. Then they complain when their first project has a screw head indentation after using the vice for what it is really for. :-)
